MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The University and Buckhannon-Upshur girls’ basketball teams played good defense, which led to neither team shooting well, but the Hawks came through with a sectional win, 49-39, on Tuesday night.
UHS outscored the Buccaneers 17-5 in the fourth quarter to pull away after trailing entering the final frame.
Ashten Boggs led UHS (10-5) with 18 points, while Mallory Napolillo added 12 points.
The Hawks will play at 5:45 p.m. today against PikeView in the Big Atlantic Classic in Beckley.
