Betty King

Betty Jean Allum King, 65, of Morgantown, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 21, 2020 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

Born April 10, 1954 in Waynesburg, Pa., she was a daughter of the late James and Lucille (McCartney) Allum.

Betty is survived by her son, Alan Dale King and his wife Chessica with whom she made her home; her two granddaughters who were the light of her life, Abigail and Emma King; and her siblings, Pamela DeCarlo, of Morgantown, Susie Franks and her husband Albert, of Bobtown, Pa. and Ellen Lentz, of Colorado City, Texas and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Keith King; a son, Brian Keith King; and her siblings Loretta Schartiger, and David, Mark and Butch Allum.

Betty loved the Lord with all her heart. She enjoyed flower gardening and being a very proud grandmother.

At her request, Betty was cremated.

A service to honor her life and legacy will be held at Faith Christian Fellowship, 3855 Grafton Rd., Morgantown, WV, at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25 with Pastor Jeff Anderson officiating.

Professional services are being provided to the family with the guidance of Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Westover/Morgantown.
