MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The University High girls’ basketball team fell to Parkersburg South, 65-59, on Monday.
Ashten Boggs scored 23 points for the Hawks (6-4) and Abbie Coen scored 19.
University struggled in the third quarter, when Parkersburg South outscored the Hawks 26-13. University outscored Parkersburg South in the other three quarters 46-39.
The Hawks entered the fourth quarter down 17 points and managed to cut the deficit to as low as four, but Parkersburg South made some key foul shots late in the game to seal the win.
The Hawks will play again at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Preston.
