Elma Kelly

Elma Jerl (Gerry) Kelly, 90, of Morgantown, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2019.

Born in Morgantown on May 24, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Jerl (Stump) Collins.

She graduated from Morgantown High School in 1947 and worked in the family business, Westover Dairy Queen, Dodge’s Jewelry Store, WVU Registrar Office and WVU Hospital Business Office. She was a member of the Spruce Street United Methodist Church. Having varied interests and talents, her favorites were travel and needlework.

Married to Kenneth Kelly in 1949, she was mother to Terry Kelly, of Morgantown, Kenna Kelly Haj (Kenneth), of Westminster, Md., and Colin David Kelly (Molly), of Naples, Fla. She has one grand-daughter, Meghan Haj, and one great-grandson, Connor Haj, both of Westminster, Md. Also surviving is sister-in-law, Shirley Kelly Johnson, of Morgantown, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, brothers Clyde and Charles Collins, son-in-law, Kenneth Haj, and grand-daughter, Rachel Haj.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date, followed by inurnment in Lawnwood Cemetery.
