A cardboard box can be so many things — a doll house, an arcade game.

On Thursday, Spark! Imagination and Science Center held Outside of the Box Day, where participants made creations using cardboard.

Spark provided the materials and allowed visitors to provide the imagination.

“Creating something new from old boxes and cardboard is not only fun, but also allows participants to use problem-solving and engineering skills while they stretch their imaginations,” said Julie Bryan, executive director of Spark! Imagination and Science Center.

Visitors were also able to explore Spark’s hands-on exhibits, where they could dig for pretend dinosaur fossils, build a ball ramp, explore nanoscience and play dress up.
