Karyn Mock Harris, 52, of Bruceton Mills, passed away Monday, Dec. 23, 2019, at Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was born Nov. 27, 1967, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Nick and Shirley (Huey) Mock.
Karyn was a member of Spruce Street United Methodist Church and attended services regularly at Mount Moriah, Centenary and Cuzzart United Methodist Churches. She was a dedicated applications systems analyst with WVU Medicine, for whom she worked for over 20 years. In her free time, she enjoyed being at the beach, spending time with her family and caring for her many “adopted” children.
She is survived by her husband, Mark Harris; daughter, Hannah Poole and her husband R. Craig, of Morgantown; siblings, Amy Shanholtzer and her husband Craig, of Fairmont, and Garth Mock, of Westover; and nieces and nephew, Claire and Lauren Shanholtzer and Garett, Kaleigh, Lilly and Lainey Mock. She is also survived by all of her “adopted” nieces and nephews who meant so much to her and her three rescue dogs, Eli, Wyatt and Dexter.
Hastings Funeral Home has been entrusted with cremation arrangements. Friends and family will be received at Spruce Street United Methodist Church, 386 Spruce St., Morgantown, from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, and again from 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 30, until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Neil Leftwich
officiating.
