Forest “Sonny” Lynn Sanders, 78, of Bobtown, Pa., passed away at his home on Dec. 3, 2019. Sonny was born in Maidsville, on March 21, 1941 to the late John and Margaret Messoria Sanders.
He served in the United States Army and later worked in sales at Jay Kuhns Furniture. Sonny then worked at Cyphert Industries. He was a member of the American Legion, Mt. Morris Sportsman Club and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also an avid Mountaineer and Steelers fan and enjoyed golfing. Above all else, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially on holidays.
He leaves behind his wife, Juanita Wright Sanders; daughters: Tina Aron (Troy), of Point Marion, Pa., and Tracy Franks (Mike), of Bobtown, Pa.; sons: Greg Sanders (Deann) of Columbus, Ohio, and Mark Sanders (Celesta), of Clarksburg; grandchildren: Zac, Torrye, Colter, Dana, Kalle, Chance, Mark Anthony, Morgan, and Caleb; sisters: Deloris Regan (Kramer) of Vass, N.C., Betty Sanders, of Westover, Nancy Friel, of Morgantown, and Bonnie Fecsko, of Morgantown; two brothers-in-law: John Cettin, of Colorado, and John Kraft, of Bobtown; and sister-in-law, Donna Sanders.
In addition to his parents, Sonny was preceded in death by sisters: Rosalie Boone, Roberta “Bobbi” Cettin and Judy Kraft; brother, John Sanders; brother-in-law, John Friel; and best friend, Norman McIe.
Friends are invited to gather at McCulla Funeral Home from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6th and again from 10 a.m. on Saturday until the 11 a.m. funeral service. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery.
