Holiday toy and food registration ends Friday

Registration for the 38th Annual Holiday Toy and Food Giveaway will end Friday, with extended hours from 1-7 p.m. Wednesday and Friday at the United Way, 278 Spruce St.

Participants will need to bring social security cards for every person in the household to receive food and for every child who will receive toys.

Christian Help and the United Way announce changes to the community event.

United Way and the Board of Education are working together to collect food. Christian Help, Toys for Tots and area businesses are working to collect toys. To best do this, all data must be collected before the event. Therefore, there will be no late registration the day of the event.

For families who have registered but are unable to make it to the event, Dec. 12, Christian Help will accommodate and offer toys the week following the event. For those who are not registered, toys that remain after the end of all registered shopping will be put into the free store and available as supplies last to anyone who visits the store.

Those interested in volunteering the week of Dec. 9-12, visit volunteerwaympc.org and register.

For questions about registration, contact United Way at 304-296-7525. For questions about toy donations or drop-off locations, contact Christian Help. Check out Facebook for more information.
