“Sheriff” John Knox, 58, of Morgantown, passed away Monday, Nov. 11, 2019, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born April 5, 1961, in Uniontown, Pa., a son of Martha L. Gaspar and the late Harry J. Knox Sr.
John worked for 20 years at PACE. In his free time, he enjoyed playing softball at Miracle Field, bowling with the Special Olympics, watching Jeff Gordon and wrestling matches.
In addition to his mother, John is survived by his siblings, Harry J. Knox Jr. and James T. Knox; stepbrother, James Gaspar; and his very best friends, Dan, Abby and Bonnie.
In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Andy Gaspar; brother, Lee Knox; and sister, Debby Kaider.
Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Friday, Nov. 15 from 3-7 p.m. and again on Saturday, Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Kelly Gamble officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in New Geneva, Pa.
