Black Bear Village, the $35 million luxury apartment project in Granville, held its official grand opening Wednesday.

The 250-unit complex, where rents vary from $1,100 a month to $1,950 a month based on view, features a variety of amenities including an outdoor heated, salt-water swimming pool with a waterfall, a dog park, a dog wash, yoga room, a 30-seat movie theater, a 24-hour gym, a half basketball court, a tanning bed and a golf simulator.

“You can pick from 1,500 courses,” said Brittany Allen, director of marketing for AB Contracting Inc., a Point Pleasant contractor and developer of Black Bear Village.

“It’s resort-style living,” she said.

There is a fourth-floor patio area on the roof that overlooks downtown Morgantown. Black Bear Village sits next to WVU Medicine and is across from Monongalia County Ballpark, home of WVU Baseball and the West Virginia Black Bears.

To date, 100 of the one- and two-bedroom apartments in the four-floor, 300,000-square-foot complex have been rented. Rents are higher for the upper floors of the building.

“We are excited to bring Black Bear Village to the Morgantown area,” said Allen Bell of AB Contracting. “Our complex offers a unique living experience where we believe that professional luxury living can be taken to new heights.”
