Police arrest suspect for larceny of truck

MORGANTOWN – At about 1:30 p.m. Nov. 4, officers of the Morgantown Police Department received a report from the MECCA 911 Center that a white Ford F-150 truck had just been stolen from the area of the loading dock at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Officers responded to meet with the driver of the vehicle and initiate an investigation into the incident. At 1:39 p.m., officers spotted the vehicle turning onto Richwood Avenue. Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle at Richwood Avenue near Charles Avenue. The driver of the vehicle refused to stop and fled on foot from the vehicle near Richwood Avenue and Fortney Street. Additional officers along with a K-9 unit responded to the area in order to locate and apprehend the suspect.

At 2:27 p.m., officers found Reginald Berry, 25, of Elkins. Berry was charged with conspiracy and larceny of a motor vehicle. A second suspect was observed fleeing the scene but is unidentified at the current time. He is described as a white male wearing blue jeans. Officers are attempting to obtain photo and video of the suspect for positive identification.
