No reason was given for the resignation of county administrator Shannon Smith Wolfe Monday.
Wolfe tendered her resignation effective Nov. 30.
“She won’t be working any further,” Commissioner Dave Price said. “That was the agreement at her resignation. She resigned.”
Former county administrator Kathy Mace said Wolfe will receive a final check that will include any accrued vacation pay.
Wolfe was hired in May. Commissioners voted to appoint Mace as a part-time interim administrator with no changes in status or salary.
At Monday’s meeting, James Martin, from the Herring Road community ask commissioners for a letter of support to bring water to homes in his area. Martin said the Kingwood Water Board was willing to work with him.
“I talked to Kingwood about the Long Hollow Grant,” he said. “It’s two miles from the end of the current (water) line to my house.”
Martin said there are several other people who also want to build homes in that area and will be needing water hook-ups.
No action was taken.
Commissioners voted to sell a truck to the Town of Albright for $10,000. Albright Mayor Roger Titchnell, who addressed the commission, said the town used to have a loner police vehicle but had to return it.
Mace said the county would make any changes needed to the vehicle, including removing the decals. She said Titchnell would have to provide a check and “something from the town meeting showing the purchase was approved by the council.”
Commissioners voted to approve a resolution, effectively Nov. 20, making employees of the 911 center first responders.
