West Virginia men’s soccer team draws with SIU-Edwardsville 0-0

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. — The West Virginia men’s soccer team took SIU-Edwardsville to double overtime, but the game ended in a 0-0 draw Saturday.

Neither team was great on the offensive end in the contest, but the Mountaineers (6-7-2, 0-3-1 MAC) managed to get off 17 total shots and five shots on goal.

SIU-Edwardsville got off just 10 shots and four shots on goal.

Steven Tekesky was solid in the net for WVU — playing all 110 minutes and recording four saves in the shutout.

Noah Heim was just as solid in the net for the Cougars (8-4-3, 2-1-1 MAC) — playing all 110 minutes and recording four saves.

Josh Dimatteo had the most shots for WVU with five, with two of those being on goal.

SIU-Edwardsville was called for 15 fouls in the game. The Mountaineers were called for just six.
