HOW THEY SCORED: Oklahoma 52, West Virginia 14

First quarter

OKLAHOMA TOUCHDOWN: Jeremiah Hall 20-yard pass from Jalen Hurts (4:32), Oklahoma leads 7-0.

Hurts was flushed out of the pocket and scrambled to his right and found Hall wide open in the back of the end zone to cap off an 8-play, 66-yard drive on the Sooners’ second possession of the game.

Hurts was 3-for-3 passing for 39 yards on the drive.

OKLAHOMA TOUCHDOWN: Charleston Rambo 6-yard pass from Hurts (1:34), Oklahoma leads 14-0.

Hurts used playaction and then found Rambo on a slant in the end zone.

The Sooners needed just four plays to cover 74 yards with CeeDee Lamb catching a pass for 31 yards and Hurts rushing for another 28 to highlight the drive.

Second quarter

WVU TOUCHDOWN: T.J. Simmons 38 pass from Austin Kendall (11:57), Oklahoma leads 14-7.

After punting on its first three possessions, the Mountaineers lined up for a fourth, but punter Josh Growden completed a pass to Dante Bonamico to keep the drive alive.

Kendall, the Oklahoma transfer, made it pay off with a 38-yard pass to Simmons, who broke a couple of tackles on his way into the end zone.

OKLAHOMA TOUCHDOWN: Kennedy Brooks 9-yard run (9:08), Oklahoma leads 21-7.

The Sooners answered right back with their third touchdown on their third consecutive possession and Brooks broke an open-field tackle by linebacker Exree Loe on his way into the end zone.

Brooks also caught a 24-yard pass on the drive that needed just seven plays to cover 75 yards.

OKLAHOMA TOUCHDOWN: Hurts 2-yard run (6:31), Oklahoma leads 28-7.

Rolling to his right, Hurts looked like he wanted to pass, but he simply took advantage of WVU defensive lineman Reuben Jones, who overran the play and gave space for Hurts to cut back and waltz into the end zone.

The drive went 57 yards in three plays.

WVU TOUCHDOWN: Simmons 7-yard pass from Kendall (0:20), Oklahoma leads 28-14.

Kendall bought himself some time and then broke Oklahoma’s zone defense by finding Simmons in the back of the end zone.

A pass interference call on Oklahoma set up the Mountaineers with first-and-goal from the O.U. 4. After Leddie Brown was thrown for a 3-yard loss and Kendall threw incomplete, he found Simmons for his second score of the day.

Third quarter

OKLAHOMA TOUCHDOWN: Hurts 22-yard run (12:51), Oklahoma leads 35-14.

Hurts’ second touchdown run of the game came when he couldn’t find anyone open and the pocket was nearing collapse. He simply stepped up and found nothing but open space on his way to the end zone.

The drive covered 75 yards in eight plays and Hurts was 2-for-2 passing on the drive for 37 yards.

OKLAHOMA TOUCHDOWN: Lee Morris 46 pass from Hurts (9:01), Oklahoma leads 42-14.

Hurts accounted for his fifth touchdown of the day with his hookup with Morris.

At this point of the game, Hurts had completed 14-of-15 throws for 273 yards and three scores and also had 86 yards rushing and two more scores.

OKLAHOMA TOUCHDOWN: Austin Stogner recovered blocked punt in the end zone (6:51), Oklahoma leads 49-14.

Brayden Willis blocked the punt and Stogner was able to recover the ball in the end zone before it went out of bounds. Replays confirmed Stogner had control of the ball before going out of bounds.

Fourth quarter

OKLAHOMA FIELD GOAL: Gabe Brkic 29-yard kick (14:17), Oklahoma leads 52-14.

West Virginia safety Josh Norwood came up with an 11-yard tackle-for-loss on Hurts to force the kick.
