John William Lucas, 60, passed away Aug. 13, 2019, in Tucson, Ariz., from injuries he sustained following a traffic accident.
John was born in Morgantown on June 11, 1959. He was the son of the late John and Jean Lucas.
He graduated from MHS and the WVU School of Journalism. John did his internship at WCLG radio station. His first job was at WDTV Channel 5 in Clarksburg. From there, he worked in Harrisonburg, Va., and Gainesville, Fla., before making his home in Tallahassee, Fla.
Even though John had been away from Morgantown many years, he remained an avid WVU fan.
John is survived by his sister, Debby Henn; niece, Bethany Sowards and husband, nephew Lucas Henn; and great-nephew, Jase and great-niece McKinley.
A memorial service will be held in Tallahassee at a later date.
