MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — University High’s girls’ soccer team defeated Parkersburg South 2-1 on Tuesday in the opening round of the OVAC tournament.
Kassidy Wolfe and Emily Lattea scored the goals for the Hawks (8-3-1). Lizzy Edwards made seven saves in net.
“I’m really proud of how our ladies stepped up tonight,” said Hawks’ coach Graham Peace. “Park South beat us earlier in the year, and they’re a really well-coached team, so we knew it would be a battle, but this is the most complete effort we’ve put together all year.”
UHS will play again Thursday against Wheeling Park in the semifinals of the OVAC tournament.
