FAIRMONT, W.Va. – The Morgantown High golf team had a rough go in their fifth match of the season at Green Hills County Club, shooting 267 overall on the 70-par course and placing 10th out of 14.
Jack Wiedebusch shot 15-over par – the lowest for any Mohigan – at 85. Owen Newbold shot 88, and Carter Patrick shot 94.
“We’re in a slump right now but I really like our senior leadership,” coach Nate Tallman said. “I think ultimately we’ll improve as season goes on. We lost seven seniors and are going through growing pains, but [overall] I like the attitude of the team.
“I believe we can be a good golf team by mid-September when it really matters.”
