MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The double-elimination American Legion state baseball tournament will be hosted by Potomac State College in Keyser. The West Virginia state champion will advance to the Mid-Atlantic Regional in Asheboro, N.C.. Regional competition begins Aug. 7.
West Virginia will crown a new champion this year as defending champion Parkersburg was eliminated in the Area 3 tournament. Elkins has the longest streak of consecutive state tournament appearances. Post 29 has qualified for states in each of the last 17 years.

Area 2 champion – Morgantown (29-7)
Area 3 champion – South Charleston (27-9-1)
Area 4 champion/host – Romney (28-8)
Area 4 runner-up – Berkeley County (19-8)
Area 5 champion – Elkins (26-15)
