Brandon Groves Stewart

Brandon Groves Stewart, 30, of Morgantown, passed away Monday, July 22, 2019, at Mon Health Medical Center. He died of natural causes due to an aortic aneurysm.

Brandon was born Nov. 23, 1988, in Morgantown, the son of Jeffrey and Sondra Stewart, of Morgantown.

He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, graduated Morgantown High School in 2006, attended Mon County Vo Tech, after which he became an employee for PACE where he worked at NIOSH until his death. He loved to cook new dishes and shopping with his mother to find unusual ingredients. He made chocolate chip cookies for the Beehive Café and was a gamer, playing Zelda and BioShock.

Dogs were loves of his life, especially pugs and his best dog, Lady. He was a kind and gentle man who will be missed by all those that loved him.

Our family is grateful for the extraordinary efforts by the EMS and first responders and Mon Health Medical Center Emergency Department for trying to save our son’s life.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother and best friend Troy; his grandmothers, Patricia Stewart and Eleanor Lallone; aunts, Diane Lepley and Heidi Stewart; and cousins, Guy Stewart and Will Stewart.
He was preceded in death by his two grandfathers, Guy Harry Stewart and Pete J. Lallone; and his uncle, Thomas C. Stewart.

Friends and family will be received at Wesley United Methodist Church, 503 N. High St., from 4 p.m. July 27, until the time of the service at 6 p.m. with the Dr. Rev. Randall Flanagan officiating. Hastings Funeral Home is in charge of services.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pace Enterprises, 889 Mylan Park Lane, Morgantown, WV 26501 or the Monongalia County Humane Society, 106 Lockside Road, Westover, WV 26501.
