Dr. Charles M. Hyde Jr., 85, of Point Marion, Pa., died Saturday, July 13, 2019, as the result of an ATV accident.
Born April 24, 1934, in Ashtabula County, Ohio, he was a son of the late Velma (Benjamin) and Charles M. Hyde Sr.
He was the much beloved veterinarian for many pet owners throughout the Point Marion and Morgantown area, and owned and operated his own clinic in Point Marion for over 15 years. Charlie loved his dogs, and you rarely saw him without one by his side. In addition to his life’s career, he also enjoyed hunting, downhill and cross-country skiing, riding motorcycles, and especially just having his friends around for a visit.
Surviving is his wife of 26 years, Michelle (Young) Hyde; a son, Mark Hyde and wife, Betsy, of Patalaska, Ohio; two daughters, Marcia Ogilvie, of Fountain Valley, Calif., and Marianna Arvidson and husband, David, of North Canton, Ohio; two stepdaughters and their husband, Sabrina and Steve Riley, of Rhinlander, Wisc., and Cassandra and Robert Mittelsteadt, of Anaheim, Calif.; 14 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and many, many good friends.
Also deceased, in addition to his parents, are four sisters, Doris Fargo, Betty Karbacka, Marilyn Swan and Marjorie Ingram; his son-in-law, Bruce Ogilvie; and his close friends, Curt Powell, Gordy Shelts and Mitch Hartman.
Charlie’s request was to have a celebration of his life. He wanted his family and friends to share their memories together. Please come and bring your memories to his home at 863 New Geneva Road, Point Marion, Pa., on Saturday, July 20. The celebration service begins at 3 p.m., with food and fellowship to follow.
In lieu of flowers, Charlie loved and supported the mission of the AIM Academy of the Canton City School District. Memorials may be made in his name to AIM Academy of Canton City Schools, 2701 Fairmount Blvd., NE, Canton, OH 44705.
