A Preston County man is charged with four counts of breaking and entering following an investigation into a string of storage unit break-ins.
The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department charged Fred E. Rohr Jr., 31, of Bruceton Mills, with the crimes after an extensive investigation into the break-ins, Sheriff Perry Palmer said.
A “large amount” of stolen property was recovered from a home during the investigation. Some of the recovered items have yet to be claimed, Palmer said. More than 16 units were broken into over a three month period.
The department is encouraging people with storage units in the area to check for missing items and if so, to call the detective’s division at 304-291-7218.
Chief Deputy Al Kisner said the department is not releasing the names of the targeted storage facilities as the investigation is ongoing.
Rohr is being held in North Central Regional Jail in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
The department expects to present his case to the next grand jury in September.
