A Cassville man was arrested on Sunday after shooting a pistol in the middle of the road following an argument with his wife, police say.
Aaron M. Brown, 32, is charged with wanton endangerment involving a firearm by the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies went to Ramp Hollow Road, about 2:30 a.m. on Sunday morning, according to a criminal complaint. They were told Brown was very drunk, firing a pistol in the middle of the road, and possibly suicidal.
The deputies started clearing the road on foot and when they came into contact with Brown, he was detained. A box of PPU .380 ammunition was found in his pocket and he admitted to throwing a gun under a nearby car, the complaint said. The gun, a pink Taurus .380, was found under the car.
A .380 round that appeared to be ejected from the weapon was found in the grass in front of the car. A neighbor told deputies Brown and his wife were drinking and had a fight earlier in the night. After Brown’s wife left, he went outside in the middle of the road and started shooting, she said.
Brown was arraigned in Monongalia County Magistrate Court. He is free on $25,000 bond.
