KINGWOOD — Kingwood Police said they found nearly 60 grams of meth in a car stopped Saturday afternoon downtown.
Craig Oakes Langworthy, 29, and Angela Sue Chapman, 39, were charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. They were lodged in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail Sunday in lieu of $25,000 bond each.
According to a criminal complaint by Kingwood Patrolman J. Knotts, he tried to stop a Honda Civic with a burnt out tail light and no MVI sticker about 2:30 p.m. Saturday on Court Street.
The Honda ran the stop signs at Price and Court, and at High and Price, before stopping at the intersection of Tunnelton and High. Langworthy was driving and Chapman a passenger. Langworthy’s hands were shaking and he was sweating profusely, the office said.
When questioned, Langworthy told the Patrolman Knotts there was “ice” in the center consol, according to the complaint. Knotts found three bags containing a total of 57.37 grams of suspected meth, bags, digital scales with meth residue and $108 in the car.
