Barbara Bartrug

Barbara “Grace” Bartrug, 83, of Morgantown, passed away Friday, March 14, 2025, in her home. She was born February 15, 1942, in Morgantown, a daughter of the late George W. and Sarah Grahm Deuesenberry.
She worked for 25 years as an insurance supervisor at Mon General Hospital and attended Brookhaven United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher. She also formerly attended Sabraton Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family and many friends.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Richard “Dick” Bartrug; children, Shelley S. Buseman and husband William, and George R. Bartrug; granddaughter, Heather Cochran; great- grandchildren, Carlee Cochran and Christina Farmer; siblings, Donald Deuesenberry and wife Karen, Tom Deuesenberry and wife Edys, Connie Eaglen, and Dollie Barker and husband Dan. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Wayne Deuesenberry and Art Deuesenberry; her son-in-law, Carl Cochran; and daughter- in-law, Kelly Bartrug.
The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Amedisys Hospice, especially Emily, Amenda, Misty, Jill, Jenniffer, and Faith.
Friends and family will be received in Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 20, and again Friday, March 21, from 10 until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Stanley Merrifield officiating. Interment will follow at Nicholson Cemetery.
