Richard A. Braley, 84, of Morgantown, died Wednesday, February 26, 2025, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, due to complication from a fall at home. Born December 20, 1940, in Boston, Mass., he was a son of the late Richard and Emily Coburn Braley.
Richard worked for Ocean Spray Cranberry, and later retired from General Dynamics Shipbuilding, where he was a rigger. After moving to West Virginia, he worked for West Virginia University in the Environmental Services Department.
Following his second retirement, he enjoyed getting together with his golfing buddies every chance he got.
He is survived by his wife, Renee Friend Braley; three children, Robin Gomes and husband Michael, Traci Cassidy and husband James, and Geoffrey Cardoza, all of Massachusetts; a number of grandchildren and their families; and his faithful, furry canine companion, Buddy Bob.
A memorial for his family is being planned in Massachusetts.
