Margaret Ann Guthrie, of Morgantown, passed away peacefully Friday, February 21, 2025, at the age of 71, in her home following a long illness.
Born July 20, 1953, in Pittsburgh, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Betty Sowers Wallace.
Survivors include her husband, Sanford “Sam” Guthrie; two sons, Richard Boykin and wife Christine of Carmichaels, Pa., Bud Boykin and wife Melissa of Florida; a stepson, Sammie Guthrie of Morgantown; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two stepgrandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Cindy; and a brother, Tom.
Margaret worked as a court stenographer at the Greene County Courthouse in Waynesburg. She loved birds – particularly macaws, of which she had over 30 at one time.
At her request there will be no local services. Following cremation she will be inurned at Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery in Pittsburgh, Pa. at a later date.
