Alicia Ann Pringle Cayton

Alicia Ann Pringle Cayton, 84, a lifelong resident of Morgantown, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Wednesday, February 19, 2025.
She was born January 25, 1941, to the late John Arthur and Ella Marie Cordent Pringle.
Alicia was a member of Sabraton Hill Baptist Church. She loved her church, where she could learn the Word and praise the Lord through worship.
A graduate of Morgantown High School, Alicia worked for West Virginia University Bookstore as a buyer for 43 years. After suffering a stroke while working, she was forced to retire.
She survived her stroke and lived at home for 15 years under the care of her son, Johnny. Before her stroke, she loved reading, cooking, baking and traveling.
Surviving her are four of her five children: Debi (Chris) of Virginia, Judy Cayton of Nutter Fort, Johnny Cayton and Timmy (Tammy) Cayton of Morgantown; her grandchildren: Amy (Luke) Hagedorn of Morgantown; Whitney (Toni) Oliverio, Cher (Chris) Robinson, all of Florida; Teran (Tim) Heffner and Maci Cayton, all of Morgantown; Tori (Walker) Carpenter of Salem; Troy Cayton (Brittany) of the state of Washington; brothers, Lee (Mickey) Pringle, and Roy (Gracella) Cayton, all of Morgantown; several great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Donna Cayton Williford; her honorary grandsons, Brandon and Tyler Kelly; as well as her best friend forever, Betty Matlick; and her dear friend, Rico Schiebel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Cayton; her son, Pastor Paul E. Cayton Jr.; her grandson, Tyler Nash; her parents, John Arthur and Ella Maria Pringle; and her sister, Cindy PringleThomas.
A special thank you to Morgantown Health Care Center and WV Caring Hospice for their kindness, love and care, especially Brenda, Dee and Luke.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, February 24, in Dering-Henson Funeral Home in Morgantown, where visitation continues from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon Tuesday, February 25, with Pastor Stephen Dodrill officiating.
She will be laid to rest alongside her late husband, Paul, at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
