Barbara Jean Haseleu, 85, of Morgantown, passed away peacefully, in her home, Sunday, February 16, 2025, after a courageous battle with dementia.
Born May 19, 1939, in Maidsville, Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was known for her strong work ethic, love for her family, and warm, caring nature.
She is survived by her children, Jerry Haseleu, Sandy (Larry) Franks, Kathy (Eugene) Adams, Carol (Paul) Gibson, Mike (Jennifer) Haseleu, and Patricia “Sis” (Kirk) Groves; 11 grandchildren; 14 great- grandchildren; and sisters, Maxine Bennett and Bonnie Fields.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald “Doc” Haseleu; her parents, Luther and Margaret Burns; two infant children; four brothers; and one sister.
Barbara worked as a seamstress at Morgan Shirt and Cintas, as well as a private caregiver for many local families. She also spent time at Mylan Pharmaceuticals, but took the most pride in being a homemaker. She enjoyed trips to Atlantic City with her family, playing slots at the American Legion, and spending time with her beloved cat, Miss Kitty.
Family and friends are invited to gather in Fred Jenkins Funeral Home from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, February 21, with a graveside service to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Dan Meadows.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation, in her memory, to Amedisys Hospice.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her nurses and caregivers, Aminda and Kayla, for their kindness and support.
Barbara’s love and laughter will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew her.
