John Scott “Scotty” Clarke, 80, of Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025, in Ruby Memorial Hospital.
He was born June 19, 1944, a son of the late Harry “Flash” Clarke and Lillian Howard Clarke.
Scott was a Morgantown High School graduate, Class of 1962. During his high school years he played football, wrestled, and was a member of the track team.
Following high school, Scott went to West Virginia University, where he received a degree in industrial arts.
He worked as a safety manager for the federal government including the Department of Justice.
He enjoyed fishing especially for brook trout, hunting, billiards, and golfing. He preferred to stay active outdoors and knew people everywhere he went. He never met a stranger.
Scott is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Vickie Clarke; daughter, Laura M. Bostic (Drew); granddaughter, Lillian M. Bostic; and grandson, Lincoln D. Bostic.
In addition to his parents, Scott was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Casto.
In keeping with Scott’s wishes, cremation services will be provided by Hastings Funeral Home.
