Davey Rowan Sr., 81, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025, in Novelty, Ohio. after a hard- fought battle with cancer.
Davey was born in Buckhannon, and grew up in Stewartstown. A 1961 graduate of University High School, he went on to serve in the U.S. Army, stationed in France.
Upon returning home, Davey ultimately became a welder and was a proud 49-year union member of Plumbers and Pipefitters UA Local 152, Morgantown.
He was an avid outdoorsman with a love of nature, especially the Alaskan wilderness. During his last trip to Alaska, he was fortunate to see 20 plus bears at the famous Brooks River Falls at Brooks Park.
Davey was a devoted, loving husband to Diane; and an amazing father to son, Davey Jr. (Noelle), and daughter, Dana. He is survived by his brother, James; and sisters, Betty, Mary, Rose, and Linda;
as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dio and Ruth; brother, Ted; and sister, Johann.
In keeping with Davey’s wishes, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
