Harold Dale Fisher completed his earthly journey Monday, February 10, 2025, while at his home in Morgantown. Born October 18, 1930, in Pickens, he was a son to the late George Fisher and Anna Elizabeth Sutton Fisher, and forged a life rich with love, service, and
simplicity.
Harold’s formative years in West Virginia laid the foundation for a life characterized by resilience and dedication. He valiantly served his country as a United States Army veteran during the Korean War, a time that shaped him into the courageous man remembered by all.
Upon returning home, Harold became the community’s rural mail carrier, a role through which he fostered countless friendships and became a cherished figure along his route.
Though Harold took pride in his service and work, his heart’s true delight was found in the warmth of his home, surrounded by the laughter and stories of his family. His late beloved wife, Frances Fisher, stood by his side through many cherished moments. He was the guiding light to his children, Christine Fisher (married to Earl Breedlove), Cindy Areford, stepson John Phillips (with wife Barbara), and he held dear the memories of his sons, Harold Dale Fisher, Jr. and James Ellis Fisher.
In addition to his parents and sons, Harold was preceded in death by his siblings, Paulin Berry, Raymond Fisher and
Conley Fisher.
Harold’s life was further enriched by the joy of being a grandfather to Landon Fisher, Tiffany Leonard, Heather Areford, James Robert Fisher, Sasha Fisher, and Dustin Fisher. The twinkle in his eye was brightest when he spent time with his grandchildren and great- grandchildren, all of whom he amused with stories of his hunting adventures and shared his passion for gardening.
