Anna Mae Shaffer

Anna Mae Shaffer departed this life Friday, February 7, 2025, at the age of 83, in Fredericksburg, Va. She was born March 18, 1941, in Hurricane, Va., to the late Alfred and Beatrice Green Tenny.
In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Garrett Shaffer; her endearing daughter, Priscilla Louk; and her brothers, Paul Sandloin, Gene Tenny and Baby Erinalee Tenny.
Her legacy continues through her loving family, including her daughter, Pamela Ann Kiser (husband Rick); and sons, David and Frank Hall. Anna’s love lives on in her grandchildren, Mikey, Troy, Shane, Peyton, Charity, Junior, Angie, Shawn, and Ashton; her 16 great-grandchildren, along with one great- great-grandchild; her siblings, Beldon “Ray” Tenny, Earl Sandloin and Thelma Spurgeon.
Anna dedicated over 25 years of service to West Virginia University at Towers Dorm in the food processing department, where her passion and hard work left a lasting impression on her
colleagues.
Her work extended beyond her professional life as she was actively involved in her community, attending Grace Church in Gainesville, Va. and the River Church in Morgantown in earlier years before moving to Virginia.
Her personal interests were a reflection of her serene nature. A devoted reader and music enthusiast, Anna found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as solving puzzle books and listening to the Bible on cassette tapes.
However, her greatest delight was her role as a grandmother. Anna treasured time with her grandchildren and embraced every opportunity to spoil them with love and attention.
Family and friends may gather in McCulla Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 11. Visitation will continue Wednesday, February 12, from 10 until the funeral service begins at 11 a.m., with Pastor Bill Page officiating. Following the service, Anna will be laid to rest at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
