Geneva L. Long

Geneva L. Long, 88, of Morgantown, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2025. She was born September 13, 1936.
Geneva led a courageous, spirited, and warm-hearted life. Her love never waivered for her family and friends. She loved reading, working puzzles, and searching for seashells.
A dedicated, hard- working individual, she was the assistant manager in Fine Jewelry at JCPenney for many years before retiring, and was also active in the Red Hat Society, where many cherished friendships were made.
The 45-year marriage to her husband, Gene, was a testament to her love and devotion. Geneva’s love extended to her furbabies, Bandit and Peaches.
Geneva is survived by her children, Vicki (Aaron) Lewis, Pam (Rex) Rosenberger, Jeff (Mary) Darnell, Dan Darnell, Ken (Patti) Darnell, Gary (Sandy) Darnell, Rick (Brenda) and Marty (Amy) Long; grandchildren, AJ, Kerri, Grant, Beth, Greg, Andrew, Justin, Kellie, Abigale, Hannah, Ethan, RJ, Logan, Cheyanne, Ava, Austin, and Calvin; great-grandchildren, Colsen, Everly, Jack and Andie; sisters, Carolyn (Roy) Hose, Darley (Don) Conroy; and brother-in-law, Steven Everly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; parents, Herbert and Wilda Taylor; sisters, Virginia Everly and Maxine; and brother-in- law, Dean Layman.
The loss of Geneva leaves a void that can never be filled, but the love and joy she brought into the world will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her.
