Nancy Lea Travis

Nancy Lea Travis, 84, a lifelong resident of Point Marion, Pa., passed away peacefully Sunday, January 26, 2025, in the MonHealth Medical Center in Morgantown. Born at home in Point Marion November 16, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Gladys Menear Travis and Grover Cleveland Travis.
A 1959 graduate of Point Marion High School, she trained to become a licensed practical nurse, retiring in 1987 from the Pediatric Department of Ruby Memorial Hospital.
Nancy was a faithful member for many years of the First Baptist Church of Point Marion.
She is survived by her sisters, Anna Mae Weber and JoAnn Dingle, both of Morgantown; a brother, Marvin “Buck” Travis of Allentown, Pa.; and by a number of loving nieces and nephews and their families.
Also deceased, in addition to her parents, are brothers, Richard, Raymond, Harold and Robert Travis; and one sister, Marcella Lyons.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. hour of service Saturday, February 1, in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, with Pastor Kathy Griffith officiating. Interment follows in Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion.
