Twila Ann Vorbach Carra

Twila Ann Vorbach Carra passed away peacefully, in her home in Florida, Tuesday, January 14, 2025, surrounded by her daughter and a hospice attendant.
Born in Morgantown in her family home, she was the seventh of nine children of the late William A. Vorbach and Lena Grose Vorbach.
She is survived by her daughter, Michele Carra; three sisters, Bonnie Mattingly, Shonet McClung and Sharon Sutton; two sisters-in- law, Betty Vorbach and Beverly Vorbach; two brothers-in-law, James Mattingly and James McClung; son-in-law, Matthew Graham; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Twila attended Morgantown High School, graduating with the Class of 1954.
After graduating high school, Twila worked for Capital Airlines as a radio operator. It was there that she met the love of her life, Joe Carra. Married in 1956, the couple had two daughters, Michele and Karen.
Twila was a mischievous girl with sparkling blue eyes and a smile that would light up any room. She helped take care of her siblings and loved to “teach school” to the younger ones.
Twila was known to be a fun and giving woman who brought smiles to all whom she met. An accomplished artist and sailboat captain, Twila and Joe shared many adventures through the years. She will be very much missed, but will live on in the hearts of all surviving.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; and daughter, Karen Carra; five brothers, Melvin Jack, William Jr., Robert, Joseph and David; and three sisters- in-law, Julia, Irene and Kay.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to VITAS Healthcare for their special care of Twila.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
