Charles Daniel “Dan” Phillips, a devoted son, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025. He was born May 12, 1965, to the late Robert and Nancy K. Ammons Phillips.
Dan resided in Georgetown, and attended Snider Temple United Methodist Church.
A 1982 graduated of University High School, Dan was employed with the FBI for a short period of time after high school before completing a degree from Fairmont State in elementary education as well as a physical education degree from West Virginia University.
Dan taught in several area schools in Monongalia County over the years and most recently was employed as a technology integration specialist with the Monongalia County School System.
Dan was known for having a dry sense of humor and enjoyed a prank or two. He also enjoyed photography, travel, and constructing Lego sets. He was involved for several years in the county 4H program.
Dan was survived by his two aunts, Delores Prugh (Ed), and Barbara “Bobbi” Clevenger (Richard); and sister-in- law, Patricia “Patty” Phillips.
In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Michael Phillips, and Paul Allen Phillips.
Family and friends may gather from 3 until 6 p.m. Friday, January 24, in McCulla Funeral Home. Burial will take place at a later date in Arnesttsville Cemetery.
