Thomas W. Sanders

Thomas W. Sanders, 86, of Wadestown, died Saturday, January 18, 2025, in the Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown.
Tom was born May 21, 1938, in Waynesburg, a son of the late Ralph R. Sanders and Aileen Louise McQuaid Sanders.
Tom was a coal miner having retired from the Blacksville #2 Mine at Wana.
Most of all Tom loved his farm. He was quite a handyman in the Wadestown area. He worked on all types of equipment and anything else that his friends needed help with. In the summer time you could find him in the meadows baling hay.
Tom was a member of the West Warren Baptist Church in Wadestown, the Littleton Lodge #131 Ancient Free & Accepted Masons in Hundred, and a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Surviving are two sons and their spouses: Doug (Kim) Sanders of Wadestown, and Dirk Sanders (fiancee Kristie) of Pentress; brother George (Loretta) Sanders of Bula; two grandchildren, Logan Sanders (friend Hannah) and Lacey Sanders (friend Dakota).
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Twyla L. Sanders, who died December 25, 2011; one brother, James Sanders; and two sisters, Mary E. Moore and Nancy Miller.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of the John Manchin Assisted Living Center in Farmington for the care and love shown to Tom while he was a patient there.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 21, in Tennant Funeral Home, 2678 Hornet Highway, Hundred, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 22, with Pastor Bob Scharnhorst officiating. Interment will follow in the Eakin-Wana Memorial Cemetery at Wana.
