Norman L. Pennington, 75, of Dilliner, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, January 9, 2025. He was born May 12, 1949, in Waynesburg, a son of the late Norman and Mildred R. Auther Pennington.
Norm was a graduate of Mapletown High School and a member of the St. Matthias Parish in Bobtown.
He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics at California University.
Norm worked as a national sales manager for Beaumont Glass in Morgantown, and also L. E. Smith Glass in Mount Pleasant, from where he retired.
He was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers and Penguins fan and enjoyed fishing, gardening, golfing, bird watching and traveling to the Caribbean and Europe with his family. Norm was also an avid youth baseball supporter and coach in Greensboro. His biggest joy in his life was spending time with his family, especially his sons and grandson.
On November 25, 1972, he married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Janet A. Burich, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Brad M. Pennington (Lynn) of Dilliner, Pa. and Joseph D. Pennington (Carly) of Point Marion, Pa.; a grandson, Hayden M. Pennington; two brothers, Ronald Pennington of New Smyrna Beach, Fla. and Robert Pennington (Christine) of Deland, Fla.; two brothers-in-law, Joseph Burich and Robert Burich; two sisters-in-law, Christine Spiker and Mary Ann Pennington; and nieces and nephews, Kristen Mullins (Brad), Joseph Spiker (Sarah), Mike Burich (Susie), Brent Burich (Jen), Michael Pennington (Jennifer) and Derek Pennington.
Deceased are a brother, John Pennington; a special niece, Elissa Spiker St. Clair; a brother-in-law, Joseph Spiker; and a sister-in-law, Sue Burich.
Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 13, and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Martin J. Yoskovich, funeral director / owner, Aaron S. Walker, funeral director, 300 South Vine Street, Carmichaels, Pa. A blessing service will be held at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, January 15, in the funeral home, followed at 11 a.m. by a Mass of the Resurrection in St. Ignatius of Antioch Catholic Church, Bobtown, with the Rev. Thomas Lewandowski as celebrant. Interment will follow at Monongahela Hill Cemetery, Mapletown, Pa.
