Julia Anne Weimer

Julia Anne Weimer, of Yorktown, Va., formerly of Morgantown, passed away peacefully Monday morning, January 6, 2025, at the age of 82, with her daughter at her side. Julia was born August 16, 1942, in Morgantown, to Steve David Deak, Jr. and Mary Jane Lakatos Deak.
Julia is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Weimer Manning and her husband, Jeffrey Manning; her brother, Steve Deak; her granddaughter, Ashleigh; her grandsons, Kyle and wife Haileigh, and Matthew; her great- grandson, Fletcher; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert E. Weimer, to whom she was married for 43 years; her sister, Mary Jane Posey; and her brother, David Deak.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend to all she met.
Julia was a graduate of Morgantown High School. She lived most of her life in Morgantown and after retirement moved to Yorktown to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren.
She worked several jobs over her lifetime, which included the Morgantown Chamber of Commerce, Petroplus and Associates, and the Dominion Post.
Additionally, Julia volunteered with several community services. She was a past member of the board of directors for the Monongalia Art Center; Monongalia Special Olympics; a board member of the Town & Country Players; the Zonta Club of Morgantown; and volunteered with Monongalia General Hospital.
In addition to loving her family, Julia enjoyed her friends and neighbors. She had several lifelong friends with whom she did card club. They enjoyed their time together and laughed with each other. Julia had a great sense of humor and was able to make people laugh and smile.

Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Julia will be buried alongside of her husband at West Virginia National Cemetery, in Grafton, at a later time.
