Anna Marie Kronek McDonald, 71, of Morgantown, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2025, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 23, 1953, in Morgantown, to the late Tony and Helen Bozicevich Kronek.
Anna Marie worked at Chico’s before taking a job at McDonalds in Sabraton, where she worked over 20 years. After McDonalds she worked at Wal-Mart on Greenbag Road/Route-119, retiring with over 20 years of service there as well.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ross McDonald; they were married for 50 years and together for 51 years. Together they had a loving family who meant the world to her.
Surviving family members include three loving daughters, Stacey Baer and husband Chad, Mandy McDonald and fiance Wendell Williams, and Melissa McDonald and partner Larry Hertzog Jr.; her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, Ariana Taylor (Jake Cobun and his son, Parker), Nathan Winters (Luke), Logan McDonald (Mattie Dexter), Jordan Baer, and Maliyah Williams; mother-in-law, Mearl McDonald, whom Ross and Anna Marie took wonderful care of this past year; brothers-in- law, Lindsay McDonald, Randy McDonald (Kathy), and Leroy McDonald (Stella Nething); sister-in-law, Beth Sansone (John); two best friends, Tami Kisner and Linda McDonald; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Butchie Kronek; father-in-law, the Rev. Arnold McDonald; and brother-in-law, Eugene McDonald.
“Meme”, as she was affectionately known, enjoyed the time she and Ross spent together with family, especially time with her grandchildren doing what they loved. She enjoyed watching Ariana play soccer and become a nurse, watching Nathan play soccer and participating in band, watching Jordan play basketball and participating in band, and watching Logan play football from little league to the college level at Geneva College. After watching Logan’s games, she enjoyed going out for dinner with he and Mattie. She also enjoyed watching Maliyah in T-ball and dance, and she always stayed up-to-date with Parker’s sports and Jake’s business.
In addition, Anna Marie loved shopping trips with her family, especially trips to Amish Country with her daughters and grandchildren. Finally, Anna Marie loved going to Bingo with the girls.
Friends and family will be received in Nicholson Chapel, 1326 Summers School Road, Morgantown, Friday, January 10, from 1 until the time of the funeral service Saturday, January 11 at 1 p.m., with Pastor Donna Dalton officiating. Interment will follow at Nicholson
Cemetery.
