Pauline Louise Shahan

Pauline Louise Shahan, 93, of Morgantown, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2025. She was born April 5, 1931, in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Everett and Delphia Dotson McCartney.
Pauline was a faithful member of Mt. View Free Methodist Church, where she served as a board member, Sunday school teacher, children’s leader, and special events coordinator. She also served as a board member for many years at BlackHills Free Methodist Church Camp, which she attended her entire life.
Pauline is survived by her sister, Thelma Gibson; son, Michael (Verna) Shahan of Bridgeport; daughters, Karen DeVault and Kathy (Vernon) Estel, both of Morgantown; grandchildren, Andrew (Morgan) Estel of Pittsburgh, Pa., Jeremy (Kim) Shahan of Bridgeport, Chris (Joan) Estel of Gainesville, Fla., Laura (Zach) DeLeurere of Bridgeport, and Bethany (Matthew) Duggan of Morgantown; great-grandchildren, June Estel, Miles Estel, Grady DeLeurere, Graham DeLeurere, Titus DeLeurere, Nolan DeLeurere, Sophia Estel, Emma Shahan, Annabeth Shahan, Abigail Shahan, Rose Duggan, and Watson Duggan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Watson “Bill” Shahan; her brothers, Marple McCartney, Earl McCartney, Carl McCartney, Sr., and Harold McCartney; sister, Hazel McCartney; a special son-in-law, Bob DeVault; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received in Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, Saturday, January 4, from 12 noon until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m., with Pastor Jim Cooley and Pastor Zach DeLeurere officiating. Interment will take place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
