David Kent Summers

David Kent Summers, 72, of Morgantown, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2024, in Morgantown Healthcare Center.
Kent was born November 27, 1951, in Morgantown, a son of the late Albertus David and Bonnie Kent Summers.
Kent is survived by his children, David Michael Summers of Sandwich, Mass., Ashley Elizabeth Summers of Morgantown, and Jenna Kathryn Summers of Westover; two stepchildren, George Austin Mutz of Colorado, and Haley Elizabeth Mutz of Pittsburgh, PA; one grandson, Michael Fisher Summers; and a sister, Linda Summers Moore and her husband, Richard of Morgantown.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Beth Summers.
David was a long-suffering WVU Mountaineer fan.
He had a calm and gentle spirit. His family would describe him best as an idealist. He was a faithful member of the Morgantown Church of Christ and sang on the Praise Team.
For many years he was a CPA and co-owner of Summers Auto Parts and Summers Inc.
At his request, there will be no public services. A private celebration of his life, and a graveside service at East Oak Grove Cemetery, will be held by his family at a later date.
