Charles Glenn Childs

Charles Glenn Childs, 56, of Morgantown, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2024, with his family by his side. Charles was born March 5, 1968, in Charleston, a son of F. Dale and Martha Childs.
He was a 1986 graduate of Morgantown High School and a 1992 graduate of West Virginia University.
Professionally, Charles worked nearly 30 years as a chemical engineer in Richmond, Va., before later returning to Morgantown to work at Mylan Pharmaceuticals (Viatris Global).
In his personal life, Charles loved waving his “Terrible Towel,” cheering on the Steelers, and rooting for his hometown WVU Mountaineers.
He also loved spending quality time with life-long friends playing Dungeons & Dragons, fishing for the biggest catch, and reading fantastical adventures.
Charles will be remembered for his quick wit, humor, and positive outlook. He seized every opportunity to make someone laugh, despite his circumstances. He was a gentle giant who loved teaching children and sharing his Christian faith in the Nazarene Church.
Charles is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 32 years, Lisa Chamberlain Childs; two children, Conner Dale Childs and Claire Chamberlain Childs, both his pride and joy; parents, F. Dale and Martha Childs; brother, Philip Childs (Debbie); brother-in-law, Rick Pinchot; mother-in- law, Patricia Sue Molisee; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nephews and great-niece; and his three fur babies, Alvin, Simon, and Theodore.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Alicia Childs Pinchot.
His family wishes to express its gratitude to WVU Medicine Hospice for its continual support and exceptional care over the last nine months.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, December 15, in the WVU Erickson Alumni Center, 1 Alumni Drive, Morgantown.
