Charles E. Fowler

Charles E. Fowler, 98, of Stewartstown, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2024, in his home, with his loving family by his side. He was born Friday, December 4, 1925, in Stewartstown, a son of the late Elmer Fowler and Elizabeth Conn Fowler.
Charles was a retired plumber of the Plumber and Pipefitters Union Local 152 of Morgantown.
He was a veteran of World War II having served with the United States Navy and during his time of service he helped with recovery of the servicemen killed at Pearl Harbor.
He was a Life member of Point Marion Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 747.
He was a strong member of Forks of Cheat Baptist Church and also helped with taking care of Forks of Cheat Baptist Church Cemetery of Stewartstown.
Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and especially enjoyed traveling with his wife as they would pull their trailer to Tennessee, Texas, North Carolina and Florida to visit family and friends or just to go fishing and relax.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 53 years, Sarah Ann Ridenour Fowler, who passed away February 23, 2000; daughter, Rebecca Hoyt; sister, Helen Frankenberry; and brother, Paul L. Fowler.
He is survived by his daughter, Margaret Taylor; two sons, Robert Fowler and wife Vicki, Thomas Fowler and wife Denise; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday, December 1, in the Louis E. Rudolph Funeral Home, Thomas B. Rudolph, funeral director and supervisor, 15 N. Main Street, Point Marion. On Monday, December 2, visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the 12 p.m. hour of service, in Forks of Cheat Baptist Church, with Pastor Chuck Bowers officiating.
Interment will follow in the Forks of Cheat Baptist Church Cemetery, with military rites accorded at graveside by Point Marion VFW and American Legion posts.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Morgantown Hospice for the wonderful and professional care provided to Charles and also to Morgantown Home Instead with a very special thank you to Kathy Kurtz for her wonderful care of Charles.
