Margaret Belle Starr, 89, died early Thursday, November 21, 2024, in the Morgantown Health Center in Morgantown. She was born October 16, 1935, in McKeesport, the second daughter to Charles and Mabel Starr.
She graduated from McKeesport High School and immediately started working at Westinghouse Airbrake in Wilmerding. After many years, she took early retirement to care for her father.
Margaret loved to travel, taking seven cruises and other trips, including to the Passion Play at Oberammergau in Germany. She enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Pirates play baseball.
A devout Christian, she was kind and generous. She was a member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in McKeesport and later joined the Wesley United Methodist Church in Morgantown when she moved there.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Eleanor.
She is survived by sisters, Edith Vehse of Morgantown and Bernice Black of Warren, Ohio; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received for a visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, December 3, in Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown. A private committal service will take place at East Oak Grove Cemetery in Morgantown.
