Bonnie Marie Bowers

Bonnie Marie Bowers unexpectedly passed away, in her home, Wednesday, November 20, 2024. She was born May 29, 1944, and was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Dorothy Whipkey.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Robert J. Bowers; their three children, Robert “Bobby” Bowers (Camille Bowers), Cindy Goodnight, and Jill Glover (Derek Glover); and their six grandchildren, Alexandra Bowers, Lydia Bowers, Isabella Bowers, Jacob Goodnight, Tyler Goodnight and Maya Glover.
Bonnie was a retired secretary for Bowers and Scott Realty, a realtor at Dorothy Root Real Estate, and the property manager for LJ Whipkey Construction.
She was an active member of the Cheat Lake United Methodist Church, which was built by her father.
More notably, she was a strong, kind, loving and selfless matriarch who always put her family first. She was always happiest when she was sharing moments with her loved ones. Whether she was vacationing to Florida, attending car and tractor shows with Bob, going to the Springs Farmers Market, or attending family cookouts and dinners, she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Bonnie was an amazing wife, mother and grandma and will be most remembered for her kindness, generosity and devotion to her family, friends, and community.
The family would like to acknowledge and offer special thanks to the Mon County EMS and Cheat Lake Fire Department for their diligence and compassion. They would also like to extend their appreciation for the outpouring of support from the close friends and family during this difficult time.

Friends and family will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 noon Monday, November 25, in Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, with Pastor Rich Schimansky officiating. Interment will follow at Zion Cemetery in Cheat Lake.
