Gregory T. Nicholson

Gregory T. Nicholson, 62, of Star City, passed away at his home on November 21, 2024 with his family by his side following a battle with cancer.
Greg was born February 17, 1962, in Morgantown, West Virginia, a son of the late Denzil Roy Nicholson and Wanda Joyce Helmick Nicholson, he grew up and continued to always be his mom’s baby boy.
Greg graduated from Waynesburg High School in 1980, working many years for Koval Building Supply. He enjoyed fishing, attending gun bashes, and trying his luck at the slot machines where he was nicknamed “Winner Winner”. Greg enjoyed fast cars and loved life and was also the life of the party. He was a member of the Mt. Morris American Legion and was known for his poker face and enjoyed beating his buddies at Texas Hold ‘em.
He was a very generous and caring man, always working for nothing, “just 20 bucks or a case of beer.” Greg gave have himself to the Lord prior to his passing. He may be gone from sight, but his memory will last forever.
Greg is survived by the love of his life Dianna McCune who was devoted to his care during his illness; his sister, Michele Nicholson; three brothers, Rick Nicholson and wife Belinda, Jeff Nicholson and his wife Sandra, Bradley Nicholson; and his wife Jenny; along with his pride and joy, Dominic Johnson, who Greg proudly raised as his son.
He is also survived by many nieces and nephews along with his daughters of his heart: McKenzie, Rikki, Samantha and Deanna (Josh); grandchildren: Andrew, Rylan, Kason, Kooper, Myla, Clayton, Coleson, Briar, and Kamdyn.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of WV Caring for their support during Greg’s final days.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, in Westover, WV. Visitation will continue Monday, November 25, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service with Chaplain Dennis Lusin officiating. Following the service, burial will take place at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
