Born November 5, 1946, in Sistersville, Howard’s 78 years of life were marked by courage, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to his loved ones and his country.
Before settling into a life of familiar routines and simple pleasures, Howard proudly served in the United States Marine Air Corps, serving as a Sergeant during Vietnam, embodying the very essence of bravery and service.
After his military tenure, he found his calling as a truck driver and diesel mechanic, a testament to his work ethic and hands-on expertise.
Howard’s professional life was marked not only by his technical insight, but also by his deep involvement in the American Legion Post 174 of Morgantown, an association that benefited greatly from his dedication and camaraderie.
Howard was predeceased by his parents, Earl L. Anderson and Hilda Eleanor Moore Anderson; as well as his brother, Douglas E. Anderson.
His memory will be lovingly remembered and kept alive by his wife, Charlotte Mayfield Anderson; and his fantastic daughter, Stacy Anderson and her fiance, Justin Siko. Howard’s enduring legacy also lives on through his sisters, Margaret A. Alabed (Nick), B. Jean Kopasko, and Mary Furrow; his brothers, Donald E. Anderson, Thomas K. Anderson (Chris), William “Bill” Anderson (Vicky), and Robert Craig Anderson (Tracy); his beloved canine companion, Mya; and many nieces and nephews.
Howard’s zest for life shone through his passion for drag racing, his enjoyment of Budweiser while swapping stories with lifelong friends at their traditional meeting on the hill, and the countless hours spent hunting and visiting the farm. Those hobbies brought great joy to Howard and fostered enduring friendships that will miss his presence deeply.
