Betty Lou McIe, 83, of Westover, passed away Friday, November 15, 2024, in Mon Health Medical Center.
Betty was born March 8, 1941, a daughter of the late David Gilbert and Madaline Hacker Henry.
Betty worked at Guido’s Carpet Store for many years.
In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, spending time with her many pets over the years, and most importantly spending time with her family that she loved and cherished. She was a traditional matriarch who always made sure her family was taken care of before her own needs.
Betty is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Robert L. McIe, Sr.; sons, Robert McIe, Jr. and wife Betty, and Eric McIe; grandsons, Anthony McIe and Cole McIe; granddaughters, Brittany Pratt and husband Nathan, and Rylee McIe; along with great- granddaughter, Joselyn Renee Pratt; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Cristy Rene McIe; her four sisters, Virginia “Polly” Casteel, Kathleen Phillips, Dorothy Moore, and Anna Russell; and four brothers, Gilbert Henry, Hillis Henry, Paul Henry, and Charles Henry.
Friends and family will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 20, in Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, where visitation will continue from 10 until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m, with Pastor Daniel Strosnider officiating Thursday, November 21. Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
