Kent Leonhardt, West Virginia’s incumbent Commissioner of Agriculture, defeated challenger Deborah Stiles Tuesday night.
The Republican Leonhardt had amassed 485,101 votes — nearly 70% — to the 215,030 ballots cast for Stiles on the Democrat ballot.
It was a GOP victory in the race for state auditor, as well.
Mark Hunt was outpaced Democrat Mary Ann Roebuck Claytor, 482,922 votes to 218,306.
Tuesday night’s totals won’t be official until canvassing.
